In the Write from History series children are asked to write story summaries as one method of narration. A very simple yet effective method was introduced in the Write from History text; however, some students may prefer a more formal method of summarizing a story.
In the soon to be released Writing from Rhetoric Book 1 Student Workbook, I cover the method in detail. Upon completing that portion of the text, and receiving questions from moms regarding summarizing a story, I realized that this information would be very helpful for individuals that have purchased the Write from History series, or for anyone else teaching children to summarize a story.
